Ronnie Marconi seeks re-election to District 7 Quorum Court seat

Ronnie Marconi, the District 7 member of the Crittenden County Quorum Court, is seeking re-election to his seat. Primary election day in Arkansas is March 5. Early voting started on Feb. 20, 2024.

Marconi, a Democrat, faces a primary challenge from health care executive and current Arkansas Minority Health Commission member Rickey McCauley.

The Crittenden County Quorum Court comprises 11 members, each representing one district.

The 2023-24 Crittenden County Quorum Court included eleven members– Vickie Robertson (District 1), Albert Marconi (District 2), Stacy Allen (District 3), Tamara Hood (District 4), Tyrone McWright (District 5), Thomas Dill (District 6), Ronnie Marconi (District 7), Robert Thorne, Jr. (District 8), Kenneth Cross (District 9), James Fraley (District 10) and Lisa O’Neal (District 11).

It meets the third Tuesday of every month.

According to the Encyclopedia of Arkansas, Arkansas quorum courts "sit with and assist the County Judge in levying the county taxes, and in making appropriations for the expenses of the county.” Members of the court are called justices of the peace.

Marconi, who grew up on a farm in Proctor, is a security manager with Delaware North Companies, according to his Linkedin. He is also president of the Midway Public Water Authority in Proctor.

Crittenden County, pop. 48,163, is on the Arkansas border with Tennessee, just west of Memphis. Its largest city is West Memphis; it is part of the Memphis Metropolitan Area. 

In the 2020 U.S. Census, the county was 54 percent black and 39 percent white.

The total proposed budget for Crittenden County in 2022 was $22,387,981.50.
