77.6% of Lawrence County residents old enough to vote in 2021

Of the 16,292 citizens living in Lawrence County in 2021, 77.6% were old enough to vote, equating to 12,637 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.

Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 6,208 were male, constituting 49.1%, and 6,429 were female, making up 50.9%.

The percentage of citizens old enough to vote in Lawrence County during 2021 was higher than the state average, which stands at 76.5%.
