The Williams baseball team swept their Saturday doubleheader at Wiley College, taking game one 6-1 and game two 9-7. The Eagles move to 12-12 on the season.
Game One
Williams jumped out to a quick lead with two runs in the first inning. Luis Febres hit a RBI single to center field and then Dylan Creech reached on a fielder's choice that allowed Jarron Brantley to score. The Eagles were held in check until the sixth inning when they went off for four more runs to extend their lead to 6-0. Nicholas Jones hit a RBI single to center field, Creech reached on an error that allowed two to score, and Trae Barnes hit a sac fly to right. Wiley got a run back in the bottom of the seventh, but that would be it.
Brevin Carlisle got the start and pitched 3.0 innings. He allowed two hits, one walk, and one strikeout. Cash Forrester pitched 4.0 innings of relief and allowed one run off three hits and struck out two.
Game Two
This time it was Wiley getting things started early as they plated three runs in the first inning. The Eagles responded in the second with three runs of their own. Creech scored on a wild pitch and Jacob Watkins hit a 2 RBI double to center field. Williams made it a 4-3 lead in the third when Parker Jeffries reached on an error that allowed Creech to score. Wiley didn't give up and scored four runs in the third to take a 7-4 lead. One quick swing of Creech's bat in the fourth tied the game at seven with a three-run homerun to centerfield. Watkins gave the Eagles a 8-7 lead with a solo shot in the fifth, and then in the sixth inning Febres hit a RBI single to make it a 9-7 Eagles lead.
Cole Doke got the start and pitched 3.0 innings. He allowed seven runs off eight hits, walked three and struck out four. Blaine Wood pitched 2.1 innings of relief and allowed one hit, walked one and struck out one. Cole Edwards pitched 2/3 of an inning in relief and allowed one hit while striking out one. Eric Tolar pitched 1.0 inning of relief and allowed one hit. Wood picked up the win while Tolar notched his third save of the season.

The Eagles will open up AMC play on Friday, March 17 with a double header against Central Baptist and then a single game against the Mustangs on Saturday, March 18.
