The Williams women's soccer team defeated the Lyon College Scots 3-0 on Tuesday afternoon after they celebrated their eight seniors: Thayane Leal, Haley Gray, Anne Yepes, Maryn Jones, Paige Strode, Danielle Barstead, Thaina Cavalcante, and Ana Karenina.
The game started off with both teams trying to establish their rhythms. The Lady Eagles definitely got more offensive chances in the game than their opponents, as they out shot the Scots 24(13) to 6(3). Williams found the back of the net in the 27th minute when Calista Christian took a shot from outside the 18 yard box that sailed over the head of the keeper. Livvie Campbell added a goal of her own in the 40th minute. Cavalcante added the final goal for the Lady Eagles when she slotted home a cross from Campbell in the 73rd minute.
Strode and Leal split time in the goal for the Lady Eagles. Leal collected three saves in the game.
