POSITION TITLE: Code Enforcement Environmental Officer
REPORTS TO: Assistant Police Chief
SUMMARY:
Protect the public welfare by monitoring and enforcing a variety of applicable ordinances, codes, to determine the presence of health hazards, nuisance violations, sites that may be a harbinger for vermin, unsafe building conditions and violations of any health, building or land use regulation, statute or ordinance.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Must possess the ability to accept responsibility, work independently and communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
• Must be knowledgeable of pertinent ordinances.
• Must be able to acquire asbestos certification through ADEQ in a timely manner.
• General computer operations, i.e. Microsoft Office software.
• Must be able to provide excellent public relations and customer service skills
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to organize, prioritize and carry out office work with minimal supervision.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must be high school graduate or possess a GED
• Five years of responsible work experience
• Must possess a valid AR Driver’s License.
