WHAT: On June 16, 2022, at 1:13 am, West Memphis Police officers responded to shots fired call in the area of 741 N. 18th street. While officers were in route to the area, officers received information that two shooting victims had arrived at Baptist Crittenden. One of the shooting victims was a 2-year-old male juvenile that unfortunately did not survive his injuries.

WHY: A suspect has been arrested in the shooting where a 2-year-old boy was struck by a bullet. The West Memphis Police Department successfully captured the suspect wanted in connection to the slaying of 2-year-old Jadaka Jimerson. Kylond Kamon Jackson, 25, was taken into custody Saturday, September 3, 2022, in West Memphis.
“This is the first step towards justice. The prayers of our community have been answered,” said Mayor McClendon.
