Job Description
Required Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or Graduate Education Degree (GED) required.
• Trade school certificate in the maintenance and repair of gas and diesel-powered engines, or at least five (5) years of field experience, preferred.
• The ability to obtain a valid Commercial Driver’s License Class B with no restrictions, Class A within six months.
• Knowledge of the maintenance and repair of gas and diesel-powered engines and related components of the equipment.
• Knowledge of the use and care of tools. Must have tools.
• Must be able to read and understand all parts manuals, instruction manuals, and schematics.
• Ability to use various electrical or manual testing devices and computers.
• Ability to work well with other employees.
• Knowledgeable of shop office procedures.
• Familiarity with all safety procedures and the use of safety equipment.
Primary Accountabilities:
The Fleet Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining functional parts of gas and diesel-powered equipment and machinery, and sanitation department vehicles and equipment.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6 am-3 pm
Reporting Relationship: Fleet Director
