Arkansas State University-Newport, a comprehensive two-year community college within the Arkansas State University System, is seeking a Dean for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. As the institution’s chief diversity officer, this position reports to the Vice Chancellor for Leadership and Community Engagement and will be a member of the ASU-Newport Extended Cabinet and Dean’s Council. The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in and commitment to the comprehensive community college mission. ASU-Newport desires a professional who possesses proven experience in and commitment to communication, transparency, and collaboration within and among all areas of the college. The Dean for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion will have the primary responsibility of supporting and advancing a campus culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and cultural humility at ASUN. This new position will lead the ASUN community in the design and implementation of an equity agenda and framework that will steward campus-wide discussions, decisions, practices, and processes. Collaborating with all facets of the campus community, the Dean will be a resource to support multiple institutional constituencies in the creation of a welcoming environment and experience for all ASUN stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
A Master’s degree or higher from an accredited institution of higher education and at least five years of higher education experience.
