Walnut Ridge issued the following announcement on March 31.
The City of Walnut Ridge is working hard to get property owners to clean up their properties in our area that have become dilapidated and are an eye sore.
As of 3-31-2022, there are 84 different properties in Walnut Ridge that Code Enforcement has been monitoring.
• These properties are not owned by The City of Walnut Ridge.
• The property/landowner is responsible for their property.
• The City makes every attempt to contact the property owners
asking them to provide us with a timeline to bring their
property(s) up to code.
• The landowner does have the right to sell or donate their
property. (The new property owner then needs to contact
Code Enforcement to determine what is needed to bring the
property up to code, along with an agreed upon timeframe.)
• When the property is torn down, cleaned up and brought up
to code, the condemnation will be completed.
Please bear with us as we go through the proper steps, this is not a quick process.
Keep watching our Facebook page for condemnation/clean-up updates as we go forward with this process.
If you have property(s) you would like us to look at please email the address to City Hall at cityhall@cityofwalnutridge.com
