ARKANSAS NORTHEASTERN COLLEGE: 2022 ANC Black History Month Event

Arkansas Northeastern College issued the following announcement on Feb. 18.

On February 17, 2022, Arkansas Northeastern College hosted the Black History Month event “Standing on the Shoulders of Giants” sponsored by ANC Community Relations under the leadership of ANC Vice President for Community Relations Dr. Blanche Hunt. ANC alumna Shunqetta Cunningham, the event’s keynote speaker, spoke about the importance of not only knowing black history, but more importantly knowing what you want from your future as well. Students from KIPP High School, Osceola High School, and Blytheville Elementary along with Faith Temple House of Prayer youth “Intentional Praise” performed during the program. Ruddle Road Church of God pastor, Danny Pankey, served as the emcee. ANC President Dr. James Shemwell closed out the event by acknowledging the success of ANC’s black students and how they have been closing the achievement gap for four consecutive years. Shemwell shared through this accomplishment that black history is being made here at Arkansas Northeastern College.
