Walnut Ridge issued the following announcement on Feb. 6.
After numerous long days and evenings running salt spreaders and snow plows, the City of WR is letting Mother Nature do the work today. Please use caution and watch for black ice throughout the weekend. With the majority of primary roads having been treated over the past few days, warming temperatures and sunshine should make fast work of the clearing and eliminate problems associated with areas where we have piled ice and snow, or the areas where rows of the side blow from snow plows present problems. Stay safe and hat’s off to all emergency workers that have and continue to help everyone through this crisis. Thank you, CSnapp
