Arkansas State University-Newport issued the following announcement Nov. 2.
The Arkansas Rural Nursing Education Consortium (ARNEC) seeks a dynamic, innovative, and creative
educator for the position of Program Director to lead the ARNEC RN Nursing Program.
ARNEC is a consortium of eight Arkansas community colleges: ASU-Newport, Black River Technical
College, UA Cossatot, Ozarka College, South Arkansas Community College, University of Arkansas
Community College at Morrilton, University of Arkansas Community College at Hope/Texarkana, and
University of Arkansas Community College at Rich Mountain.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Unencumbered Arkansas RN Nursing License
• Masters in Nursing degree
• Must have at least three (3) years of clinical nurse experience
• 1 year of higher education teaching experience (may include full or part-time)
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This is a full time, 12-month position. The Program Director will work closely with the RN coordinator
at each of the eight sites and is responsible for curriculum, promotion of the program, supervision of full
time faculty and staff: and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the consortium. Director must be
available to students and faculty on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Travel will be required.
*Office location will be at the partner campus most convenient to the Program Director's home
location.
SALARY:
Annual salary is $75,000. Position includes paid vacation and sick leave, a retirement package, group
health, dental, vision, life, and short and long term disability insurances.
