WALNUT RIDGE: Walnut Ridge Police and Fire Departments will hold a drive-thru Trunk-or-Treat on Oct. 31

Walnut Ridge issued the following announcement on Oct. 26.

Walnut Ridge Police and Fire Departments will hold a drive-thru Trunk-or-Treat in Stewart Park again this year, pending have enough participation from businesses, organizations, and industry. The event will be held Sunday, October 31, 2021. Participants can start setting up booths at 3:30 pm and must have the set–up completed by 4:45 pm. Gates will open at 5:00 pm and the entry will close at 6:30 pm.

If you would like to participate, this event will take place on October 31st, from 5-6:30 p.m. with the park closing at 3:30 for participants to set up.

Rules for Participants:

1. Participants can begin set up at 4:00 and will need to be set up in their designated spot by 4:45 p.m.

2. All participants who hand out or handle items must wear disposable gloves, and a face mask that completely covers their nose and mouth.

a. This is a requirement of the Arkansas Department of Health in order to have the event.

b. Participants not handling or handing out items are strongly encouraged to wear a face mask.

c. If able, please supply your own masks, and gloves. The city will have a limited supply of mask/gloves for participants if needed.

3. It is recommended that items be prepackaged in small treat-style bags if possible.

4. Participants must hand out items, and not allow Trick-or-Treaters or those accompanying them to reach into any box, bag, or other container to get items.

a. Another option if items are prepackaged is to place them on a tray and let the parents/children take them. Trays used to place items on should be cleaned and sanitized frequently.

5. There will be designated areas around the park loop road with expansion into the ball field parking lot area, if needed.

• This is a drive-through event only; Trunk –or-Treaters must remain inside the vehicle.

• Vehicles will enter the park from North East Second Street; Park Road from NE Front to NE Second will be closed to traffic.

• Vehicles will make the loop around the park before turning right into the parking lot located between the baseball fields where the event ends.

• While driving through the event, vehicles will only stop to get items from the trick-or-treat booths.
