City of West Memphis issued the following announcement on July 17.
#winningstreak Congratulations to the Academies of #WestMemphis Teacher of the Year and the Arkansas Teacher of the Year Regional Finalists, Amy Farmer, math, grades nine and 10, Academies of West Memphis. The Arkansas Teacher of the Year program is part of the National Teacher of the Year program, which recognizes teachers for their teaching and leadership skills. The 12 will be recognized Aug. 5 at the Governor’s Mansion, where four state semifinalists will be announced. One will be named 2022 Arkansas Teacher of the Year in the fall and compete for 2022 National Teacher of the Year.
