Cost of college was unchanged for all students at Arkansas State University-Newport

In-state tuition and fees were unchanged for 2018-19 at Arkansas State University-Newport, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Arkansas residents paid $2,760 to attend the two-year public institution in both the 2017-18 and 2018-19 academic years.

Non-residents paid 53 percent more than residents this year, or $4,224. Their price tag was unchanged from $4,224 in 2017-18.

About 95 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Arkansas residents. And about 2 percent are residents of other states.

Data shows 87 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 269 students received grants or scholarships totaling $1.3 million and 54 students took out student loans totaling more than $263,186.

Including all undergraduates (2,270), 1,246 students used grants or scholarships totaling $6 million, and 443 students took out $2.3 million in federal student loans.
